Thunderbolt 3 connecting to printer?

From MacBook Air ( Catalina, using Thunder Bolt 3) connecting to printer (with UBS Port). The connection from the MacBook Air needs a line out ending with a UBS connection.

Presumably you mean USB? A USB-C-to-A adapter is what you need, perhaps with a USB cable (note that some printers need a USB-B input. -A, -B and -C are all just plug styles.
