Reset to factory
How do I factory reset my Apple TV gen 3 without a remote or computer? I just moved and found mine in storage but not the remote.

You can restore this model using a computer to load the latest supported system software on it through USB.

The Apple TV (3rd generation) will still need a functional remote. It may even need a functional remote to set up the iOS Apple TV Remote app.
For the Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) without remote, your options are:
- buy a replacement Apple Remote (aluminum);
- temporarily borrow an Apple Remote (aluminum) to help set up the app;
- restore the Apple TV and connect a wireless keyboard to help set up the app;
- restore the Apple TV and connect the CiderTV Mac app to help set up the app.
