Following a walk trace is not seen in activity app

Outdoor walk did not appear as a trace when examining the stats of the walk in Activity App following completion of the walk.

Until today it’s worked perfectly for at least 2 years

The screen shots show only the green finish flag.

The red start flag and walked trace are not to be seen

I have the exact same problem - even the route of my previous workouts display only the starting location. It seems to be a bigger SW problem, since other users are reporting this as well...

I‘ve tried unpairing / re-pairing, resetting / restoring (AW + iPhone) and setting up as new (AW + iPhone) - nothing seems to work.

I guess we need to wait until Apple fixes this issue with a future SW update.

Check these settings first;

To see the map, you must turn on route tracking. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services,turn location services on then tap Apple Watch Workout, then tap While Using the App.

Then tap on maps then tap While using the app.

Then tap on System Services and turn on motion calibration and distance.

Another place to check is on the watch in settings/privacy/Location Services and make sure this is turned on and scroll down to apple watch workout and select while using the app.
