Watch os 7 and ios 12

I have iPhone 6 ios 12.4.8 and apple watch 4. Can i update watch os?

is there any possibility that apple watch os in not compatible with my iphone?

If your watch has OS 6 or above it will not work with iPhone 6 as it can't run iOS 13 or above.

No. watchOS 7 requires an iPhone 6s with iOS 14.
