Fitness app won’t work on watch after update

I updated my watch’s software and now the fitness app will not teach my steps or anything. My iPhone had already been updated. Also, now my watch’s battery is dying very quickly. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Apple has this support document that might fix your problem: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211865

Do note that restoring your iPhone and Apple Watch can result is some missing data, such as missing Watch data from the time that WatchOS 7 / iOS 14 was installed until now. And maybe missing apps that are no longer in the App Store. Also if you are connected to your work, you may need to link it back up to your work servers. And Apply Pay and Face/Touch ID will need to be setup anew.
