When trying to update the latest version of IOS I receive a message saying Verification failed because I an not connected to the internet, although I am connected

It appears that you're having a problem updating your iPhone 7 to iOS 14.0.1 wirelessly. You receive a message that the update can't be verified because your iPhone is no longer connected to the internet.
