I have just bought a new Apple Pencil 1st gen. I believe that it should work out of the box, with a small charge of the battery if it doesn’t, via the iPad lightning connector or via the wall using the adapter. I have tried to charge it both ways, it won’t pair or charge; my iPad is iPad Air 3 and I called apple support and they say I have to update my iOS software from 13.5 to 14, will this work?
