When folder permission was set to everyone ... who can really see the folder ?

Hello community,

I have my iMac user setting like this

  • Me - Admin
  • User A - standard user
  • User B - standard user

While I was reviewing the folder permission setting, I found that the "document" folder of User A is set to "Read Only" for everyone for project info sharing. However neither me or User B could view the content of the document folder of User A. Instead if User A add me and User B under the sharing list as Read Only, we can get access the file.

My question is, whom are supposed to be included under "everyone" ? Why even the folder was open to "everyone" with the account, none of them can get access to the file?

Many thanks for your help :)
