Can I use the USB port to migrate from my old Mac to my new Mac?

Can I connect a cable from the USB port on my old MacBook Pro (567) to the Thunderbolt 3 port on my new MacBook Pro to migrate the computer data?

Yes a cabled connection is the way to go. USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple

(You will use this adapter for all your external USB devices to connect to Thunderbolt.)

The most trouble free way to move from an old machine to a new machine is the Setup Assistant on the initial boot up.

Set up your new Mac - Apple Support

The second best way is use the Migration Assistant
