Philips 276E8VJSB with a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, four Thunderbolt 3 ports)

Good morning,

I would like to use a 27 inch monitor on my MacBook Pro (13 inch, 2017, four Thunderbolt 3 ports). I have my eye on the Philips 276E8VJSB

https://www.philips.nl/c-...0/4k-ultra-hd-lcd-monitor)

Now I have read that some people are unable to get 4K on the monitor. Is it possible at all to get the most out of this monitor?

Perhaps with an adapter like this?

If not, maybe there are other recommendations for a monitor between 300-500 euros?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Peter Appel

Hi Appel07,

It sounds like you want to know the best resolution you can get from this monitor. To learn what's it's capable of, we recommend reaching out directly to the manufacturer as they would be able to provide you with the most accurate technical specifications.

Once you have a monitor, check out the "Change your display resolution" section from the resource below for a full breakdown on how to adjust the resolution within macOS.

We hope that helps.

Take care.

2016 and 2017 models of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar — limiting full speeds to the two left-side Thunderbolt 3 ports, with reduced bandwidth on the right-side ports.
