MS Outlook

Hi, being fairly new to Mac, I have tried desperately to get used to its email system without success! I have spent most of my life with Outlook - which I find very easy and comfortable to live with. Could someone explain to me please, (1), is it possible just to have Outlook as opposed to the whole MS Office package and if so, will I be able to use it on my iPad and iPhone (XR)? (2), Should I purchase it, is it best to get it from the app store or via Microsoft and lastly, once bought, is the transition straightforward? ie will it automatically transfer al my emails and folders?

Sorry for such a 'bone' question but welcome your advice and guidance.
