Outlook not downloading messages

I use both gmail and outlook accounts. Outlook stopped downloading a new messages on my Mac desktop a few days ago, but they continue to download on my iPad. What to do for my Mac ?

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Great ; thanks for the help which has solved the problem . One to remember !

Another query: I have many email mailboxes for filing emails on my Mac desktop. How do I get the same mailboxes to appear and sync on my Mac laptop?

No easy way...

Make new Mailbox on Server, copy On My Mac mailbox to new Outlook box, make new On My Mac mailbox on whereever then copy them wherever once done sending & receiving, rinse & repeat.
