How do I update OS X to the newest version of my MacBook Air is saying in the Apple store that there are no new updates.

My MacBook Air is computing in OSX version 10.8.5, how do I update it if the App Store is saying there are no available updates?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which MacBook Air model you have, download El Capitan, High Sierra, or Mojave through the links provided. It's not possible to upgrade straight from 10.8.5 to Catalina.
