iPhone 12 yellow screen

i got my 12 pro yesterday, beautiful machine, but i started to notice some lack of color intensity, i've using an Iphone X for 3 years know, so something was off. I put the two side by side, displaying the same foto, exactly same settings, and it's sad, something is wrong with the 12 pro, the colors are sad and dead and "yellowish".

Any ideas ?

Hello Antonio! I found a solution that works for me and would work for you as well! My new iPhone 12 also had the yellow tint to it so I exchanged it at my local apple store and although the new one was better, it still had the tint to it. My solution is to actually change the color tint of the display by going into your settings < accessibility < display & text size < color filters < turn on and select color tint. You can scroll down and adjust the intensity and the hue. I have my intensity slider all the way to the left and my hue is about 80% to the right which adjust the tint to a more natural color. It has satisfied me and I hope it works well for you!

This is clearly an issue that probably all the new iPhone 12 series have, maybe some less noticeable!

As I said so many times, maybe a software update could fix it, however this doesn’t seem like it has been addressed with this week’s update.

The iPhone 12 Pro is such a nice and fast machine, so sad to see this yellow tone. Also the camera does take warmer pictures and street lights sometimes come off so yellow!

I am waiting 2 more weeks until I have to return it and might consider an 11.

Such a shame, since I like the design of the phone and how it performes! But the yellow tone really drives me crazy!

The devices are covered under the manufactures warranty as it is clearly a defect in product.

I am sure they are being hammered with complaints on this issue but what they intend to do about it is beyond me.

my phone is dim and cannot be brightened.

certain emails depending on whether there is a picture attached when I open them shifts the entire page which causes me not to be able to even read the email. I have to hit reply in order to see it.

also in Safari while looking at certain webpages it is constantly switching modes and background colors for some reason.

iPhone 12 mini is a great disappointment compared to my older iPhone and iPad.

The colours on photographs are yellow, murky and dark. And they don’t look as clear. Snow looks yellow. Icing on the Xmas cake looks yellow. Even the screen for all texts and emails is a cream colour instead of crisp white. Despite the larger text size this dingy screen makes everything more difficult to read. It’s going back!

PS, in an earlier post I take something back. With True Tone OFF it wasn't too blue. It was too green. Comparing to older models the 12 PM with True Tone off had more yellow, but the yellow tint and blue in the screen gave it a slight greeny blue look overall, and whites looks more yellow.

So, essentially- the screen had a yellow tint to it, regardless of True Tone.

I tried some of those adjustments but just couldn’t really find the sweet spot. Would be great if the adjustment could be make with an image in the viewer, if that makes sense? Also- the primary issue is white balance. When you adjust tint and hue - it does it across the board, not just to the whites.

I just feel like, for 1K I shouldn’t have to futz around like that. Most likely I’ll be returning this phone and waiting for an improvement. Pretty bummed. I was really excited about upgrading my photo situation.

I don't know .. for months I went around different Apple stores and called Apple a thousand times and they all told me that they calibrated it like this, that it is better for the view, etc. for the green tint we can hope for an update but for the yellow tint we will have to wait for the new iPhones ..after several months my iPhone is less yellow than the first day but if compared to any amoled phone even for 200 euros you immediately notice how yellow it is ..

A month on for me now with my new iPhone 12 Pro Max and the ever so subtle yellow tint on the whites are depressing.

I would say it’s more of a subtle urine-tinted white. On a phone that’s got a 1,399 price tag, it’s truly depressing. Like someone else has pointed out, I too have seen better whites with balanced colours popping out of the displays’ of around 200 price tag phones.

My older iPhone XS beams-out the most neutral dead white you can wish for and it’s a sight to behold, as it helps compliment and balance all the other colours.

The irony is when I first unboxed my iPhone 12 Pro Max from new, I noticed the ever so subtle yellow tint and thought that maybe it was a new setting in the phone to compliment some new colour scheme to match the colour of the phone (mine being the gold colour iPhone) - but then I thought “don’t be silly, that’s too silly a feature”. But in a way I wish that were true, because then I could have switched that strange feature off had it been true.

It’s just how quite Apple is about it, it’s not right. I have 2 iPhone 12s and they both the same. You think apple going to admit millions of iPhone 12s have yellow glass instead of crystal clean. Can’t fault the glass though. My missus dropped her phone and a car drove right over the screen, back smashed, rear camera smashed, bug dent in back and the front screen hasn’t even got a crack.
