iPhone 12 yellow screen

i got my 12 pro yesterday, beautiful machine, but i started to notice some lack of color intensity, i've using an Iphone X for 3 years know, so something was off. I put the two side by side, displaying the same foto, exactly same settings, and it's sad, something is wrong with the 12 pro, the colors are sad and dead and "yellowish".

Any ideas ?

Hello Antonio! I found a solution that works for me and would work for you as well! My new iPhone 12 also had the yellow tint to it so I exchanged it at my local apple store and although the new one was better, it still had the tint to it. My solution is to actually change the color tint of the display by going into your settings < accessibility < display & text size < color filters < turn on and select color tint. You can scroll down and adjust the intensity and the hue. I have my intensity slider all the way to the left and my hue is about 80% to the right which adjust the tint to a more natural color. It has satisfied me and I hope it works well for you!

I'm returning mine, I just cannot get used to the yellow tint. Color filters is not the solution. We should not need to do this, it is a bandage to a problem that should not exist in the first place. Real solution would be to add a white balance trigger on the display settings to that users can **only** shift the white tone vs throwing in an additional blue filter on top, which is what the color filters are doing. But there is a slim chance that Apple will do this.

If I'm paying $1k for a "Pro" device, I expect the display panel to be as good or better than my 2 year-old MacBook Pro and 3-year old iPad Pro.

I returned my 12 Pro as well. Completely unacceptable on a $999 USD phone. As long as people are complacent, Apple will continue to ship subpar displays. Unless they see an increase in returns, the issue will remain. Before returning I visited 2 different Apple stores to compare my 12 Pro to the ones in display, and ALL were equally bad or worse. All of them noticeably worse than the display on the XS and 11 Pro, as well as my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.

I gave Apple a pass on not adding a 120Hz display, not bringing Touch ID back (on the power button or under the display), not improving at all Face ID, as if they were unaware that face masks will be our new normal for the foreseeable future, but will not overlook this yellow display. Sorry Apple.

I bought a 12 Pro on release day as well, and just wasn't happy with the display, but couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. It wasn't till I had a reason to start up my old XS Max and has the two side by side that it really showed the issue with the yellow tint on the new 12 Pro.

I took the phone back to the Apple store yesterday, and the very helpful assistant got another 12 Pro out to compare with mine, and hers was even worse. She then got another, and that was the same as mine, but neither were as good as my old XS Max. They didn't have any phones in stock to replace my 12, so I just returned it and got a refund. So back to using my old XS for the moment.

There is definitely a problem out there with new 12 Pro devices and if you have one, it is worth comparing with another phone if you can. Set the the display to Light, the same brightness level and True Tone on and the Wight will have a yellow/dirty tint to it.
