Hello!
If you change the storage from family to personal, do my previously saved photos remain in the family storage? Or will they be mixed up in a private storage?

When you share an iCloud Storage plan, each person's storage is private and under their own Apple ID. See the following from Share an iCloud storage plan with your family - Apple Support
When you share a storage plan, your photos and documents stay private and everyone keeps using their own accounts with iCloud—just like when you have your own storage plan. You simply share the space available in the iCloud storage plan with your family members, so you only have one plan to manage.
Any photos that you shared via iCloud Photo Sharing will also be unaffected -- i.e., they will still be shared.
