While downloading MACOS Big Sur, I received this error message: "MACOS Big Sur Installation Failed. An error occurred while installing the selected updates." Now the Software Update feature will only give me that error message when I try to do the update. Is there any way to clear out the partly downloaded file from the failed update and start over?

Try again today if you already haven't done so. I did this morning and it went thru in less than 30 minutes for the download and about 40 minutes for the installation. The servers were flying today.

Thanks for following up with me. I did log in late last night and downloaded the file, though it took longer, even at that time, than you were able to experience.
