My MacBook Pro model a1286 keeps restarting

My MacBook model a1286 just got updated but afte the update it keeps restarting when is almost done booting up! I need help asap! I tried everything yet, restarting the rms, nvram & all that, but it keeps doin the same thing! 😭

That designation covers laptops from at least four generations. The only similarity is they are all 15" models which may have a defective GPU. However, if the Mac is booting to the end of the progress bar when it fails, then I suspect you have a failing hard drive.


Try running the Apple Diagnostics. If no failure is detected it does not mean the drive is good.


Try booting into Safe Mode.


If you have a 2010 or newer model which has had macOS 10.12.6+ installed, then you can try booting into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R.
