A few years ago I used Append to join two Pages documents but now (after several updates to Pages (I have version 10.3.5) I can't find how to do it. Is it still possible? I do remember that the procedure involved saving the thumbnails of the document to be appended. The alternative of selecting all pages, copying and pasting is a hassle because images don't get copied.

You open each Pages document and copy/paste the content from the source document to the end of the (backed up) recipient document. That is Pages append in 2020.

OK. Why are images (JPEG) not included in the copy/paste?
Images are separate document objects, and must be selected, copied, and pasted separately from the text. Just the way the application is designed.
