L-Cut J-Cut

Detach and Attach audio


In my editing workflow I juse L-cuts and J-cuts

Im detaching the audio froma clip and move the videoclip slightly. This gives me a cut that isn't noticable for the viewer.


However I'm finding myself in a position where I need to adjust my first cut. So I'm in need to move clips around the timeline and like to re-Attach the audio back on to the videoclip so I can drag it around and move the place of the cut.


Q1: Is there a way to do this?

Q2: Is there an other workflow that will simply make L- and J-cuts and later move clips around in a second cut after a feedbackround from the client?

Do NOT use Detach Audio to do J-cuts and L-cuts.

Use Expand Audio instead (control-S is the shortcut). This will keep the audio and video together, but allow you trim them separately to do the J- and L-cuts:
