I need advice on iPads to buy for a project, but you can’t go in the local apple store bc of Covid. Is there a number I can call?

Like babowa and imobl said, you can ether call apple support, or schedule an appointment. But also since you said that you don't want to go outside, I think contacting apple support is best.

and they will be able to assist you over the phone.
