My bluetooth is connected but the icon doesn't show the three dots. This happened after the upgrade. How can I fix it ?

Bluetooth icon in menu bar no longer shows connected status, sounds like a bug and I was really hoping it would be fixed in the first patch release.
Especially when I saw this in the 11.1 release notes:
- Bluetooth connection status was not displayed in Control Center
