Why do I still have 11.1 update available after 11.1 update?

I installed Big Sur 11.1 update, it restarted after download and preparation. But About still says 11.0.1 and System Preferences shows the update to 11.1 available.

So I shut the system down and brought it back up. Same - still 11.0.1 and available.

MacbookPro mid 2015.

So I waited a bit, then started the update again. This time it restarted about six times, then showed me it had 10 minutes remaining, the bar crawled across the screen and the displays came up. Yup, 11.1.

I've no idea what that first pass did, but you can ignore this.
