I did see the compatibility list and my iMac doesn't show support for Big Sur. WIll it ever be compatible on an iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) Model Identifier: iMac14,2?
Never. The Late-2013 iMacs are now on Apple's vintage and obsolete product list. Keeping mine on Mojave.

We are not Apple so cannot state their future plans. However, based a long history, the answer is no. Never seen them reprogram an OS to pick up older devices previously not supported, and I've been a Mac driver for 30 years.
