You can. However, be aware that the trade in program gives you a credit for a future purchase which is given after the old device is received, so if you've already bought your new Mac then you cannot apply the credit to the purchase of that Mac.


An alternative is to make a Time Machine backup of the old Mac, send it in, then buy the new one after you get the credit and set it up from the TM backup.
