2019 Macbook Air will not shut down

I have a 2019 Macbook Air that will not shut down. Even holding the finger print/power key has the same result. The Macbook goes to black screen and then restarts. The reason I want to shut it down is because it became unresponsive to the keyboard, but was reacting to the trackpad. Although it restarts I cannot login because it will not respond to keys. Is there a way to force shut it down? Do I just have to wait for the battery to drain?

I found the issue! After the battery drained and I restarted it the keyboard was still unresponsive. I wanted to see if any of the keys would illicit a response and I found the left side command key to be stuck down. Once I was able to "unstick" everything was working properly.
