Transfer from old iPad to a new one

I got a new iPad and easily transferred from my old one following the prompts but I’m waiting for all the apps to load....all day! Is this what’s supposed to happen? Should I power off the iPad to help the apps to load faster?

No do not power the iPad down. The apps download over WIFi. If you turn it off, you will turn the connection to WiFi off and the apps will stop downloading until you power up again.

If you have a great deal of content on the old iPad and depending on how fast your internet connection is, it could take quite a few hours for everything to download. Plug your iPad into power, let it go overnight and see where it is tomorrow.
