I purchase extra iCloud but it is not letting me use it however I was charged for it

Why am I not able to use the extra iCloud I purchased.

One cannot purchase extra iCloud storage in order to augment their device's storage as the latter cannot be altered - What's the difference between device storage and iCloud storage? - Apple Support.
