How do I set notifications so they disappear automatically after a few seconds?
It seems they used to do that, but now they remain until I manually dismiss them. When I'm away from the computer for a while, there can be a lot of email notifications.

Check Sys Prefs>Notifications, (not on 10.15 at the moment), Banners go away automatically, Alerts stay until dismissed.
