I have been having a ton of password problems lately, user suspect I'm sure. Right now my Appleid on my MacBook is using the same id as the MacBook id and that is not the same id as my other devices.

How do I change my password on my MacBook without changing it on my other devices?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.1

You are welcome. If the Apple ID on the computer isn't the same Apple ID that is on your devices, have you signed out of the computer ID, and then signed in with the ID you used on your devices?

If the ID is the same on the computer, you should be able to sign into that ID using the password that you use on your devices. You might need to sign out of the ID, restart the computer, and then sign back in.

Hi Eric, I know you have tried to help me and I thank you, so I think I am the problem. I don't know how to explain some of these things. Earlier in the month I had a scare that someone had broken into my Amazon account so I set about changing all my sign ins and passwords, and I've had problems ever since. My iphone and my iPad are synced but my MacBook is confusing me. When I sign in to my MacBook I have a password, not an Apple id. When I sign in to Appleid the only password that works is the sign in for my MacBook. So I can't get all three devices working together. I don't know if the MacBook accepted the password I changed to in my other devices because I can't get past the appleid.
