Did Apple install it?

If not, much we can recommend. The battery on the MacBook Air is not "user installable."

If yes, call AppleCare as their repairs usually are covered for a certain period.

Routines to install the battery yourself are extremely risky to your data, and your logicboard, and I've attempted to offer feedback on replacing it with all the precautions, and had those posts deleted.

Recommend that you check the MacBook Air model and verify the charger you are using is an Apple charger of the proper wattage for your model with no signs of fraying for the cable.

Make sure also the plug you are plugging into gives power to a lamp that's plugged in the same plug to ensure you don't have an electrical issue such as a plug that has a wall lightswitch that turns it off

Note, the login screen does not always show if the battery is charging. Login the computer to verify.

Make sure nothing else is plugged in the computer.
