how to upload pics from photos in mac os to icloud

How can I upload my photos that are stored in the photos app on my MacOs to icloud while maintaining the album structure I created in photos for mac os.

iMac 27″, macOS 11.1

Simply set photos up to use iCloud. Your whole library is replicated in iCloud including edits, keywords, albums etc.


Bear in mind you cannot then delete photos off your mac. iCloud is a sync service, not a backup service. If you delete photos on any of your devices, they are also deleted in iCloud.


If you want to save space on your mac, you can choose to optimise mac storage, and then your mac keeps only small thumbnails and previews leaving the full size photos in iCloud.`
