Latency issue

Recording audio track with playback all is fine about 30 seconds into recording I hear a snap through headphones and latency goes through the roof.....unusable. Have tried changing i/o buffer size no help. 2020 iMac big sur OS ... Have used logic pro for years no issue until now with new OS, new computer and latest logic update. Only three tracks ......

Yeah, Logic and Big Sur are having problems, what are you using for an Audio Interface.?

What sample rate are you using?

Pretty sure the "snap" is reset of Core Audio.


Doubt if it will help but resetting preferences to defaults might be worth a try. (see my post in the topic below.)

That computer may have the dreaded T2 chip not sure. Embarrassing that Apple's own software runs badly on the latest OS.
