Trouble downloading 10.14+ macOS

I am having trouble downloading mojave and big sur (2015 early mac air). it calculates, starts to download and the seems to freeze or go inactive. have a good wifi connection, plugged in and avail storage. any thoughts on why i'm having issues downloading

WiFi is not always reliable enough to maintain a connection with Apples Servers.

If you can connect your mac to your router via cable you will have a stronger quicker connection.

If WiFi is the only option then move your mac as close to the router as possible.

How much storage do you have, if you are trying to download and install macOS Big Sur you

need at least 35.5GBs of free space on your internal drive.

When downloading do not use the mac ad do not use any devices that share the same internet connection.
