99% of my gmail notes vanished overnight

How do I recover my notes? I had quotes, research topics, passwords for various accounts, snippets of conversation for my book--I need these notes back, and am trying not to panic because I don't even remember what all I had.

I've checked app settings; didn't help.

I do not have a "recently deleted" folder.

The last time I changed something on my phone was deleting some things in the mail app a couple days ago, but I'd like to think that wouldn't affect the notes.

Pretty sure I accessed these my notes in the past week.

The only note that's left is one from July of last year; no idea why it's the only one left.

No one else has access to my phone, and I don't leave it where others can play with it without my knowing.

Phone is password and face ID protected, so I doubt one of the cats were able to do anything overnight.

Log into your Gmail account using web access on the computer and see if your notes are accessible there. If they are there, then turn Notes off in Settings under Gmail, and then turn them back on again.
