can someone tell me a tip on how to unlock an iPod touch when you forget the password?

The lock screen passcode? If so, see the instructions in If you forgot the passcode on your iPod touch, or your iPod touch is disabled - Apple Support

The Apple ID/iCloud password? See: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
