iMac shut down?

Apple, scroll down to shut down leaves desktop screen active with nothing else on it won't shut down. back button does cut down.

We'd make sure to follow the exact steps listed here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac


If you continue to experience power issues, we'd recommend resetting the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac to see if that helps. You can find out more information about the resets below:
