If iPad isn’t responding, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.

Last week my iPad battery died so I plugged it up and a few minutes later it flashed the apple logo and wouldn't do anything else. I did all the steps they recommend but nothing fixed it.

It seems like such a stupid flaw for such expensive devices to have but apparently is a common one.

Now I have replaced it and every minute I am living in fear that it will happen again.

Like seriously, you can't let your iPad battery die without it getting caught in this so called "charging loop"? , I am so disappointed.
