How do I add text to a film clip keeping the audio but hiding the video? I've been away from film making for over a year and I've forgotten. Thanks in advance.

Add the video clip with its embedded audio. Then select the clip and do a Modify/Detach Audio. That will separate the audio from the video. Put your cursor on the audio clip in the timeline and, while pressing down, pull it straight down to a lower audio well until the attachment handle pulls off from the video clip. That will make the audio clip independent of the video clip. Then delete or move the video clip.
