Is iCloud password the same as AppleID password?

Can my AppleID’s password be used for logging into my iCloud account? I have tried without success?

The iCloud password should be the same password as your Apple ID password unless you are using a different ID for iCloud.

Device or computer? What happens when you try to log into iCloud? Error message(s)? Can you log into iCloud.com using a computer browser?
