New macbook pro heating up i just purchased this oct 26, 2020 and its heating up like the rest of the complains in the community.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

This is an Apple Silicon M-1?

Or, is this an 'Intel-based' Mac?


These both can be bought new.


You can reset SMC in traditional

manner IF unit is Intel-based.


Both are addressed below:

"Apple's support has said that the M1 Macs should do something similar

to SMC reset by shutting down the computer ~ and leaving it turned off

for at least 30 seconds before turning it on again. Since there is no way

to test if it actually does something, we can not determine if it is true."


SMC in an "Intel-Mac" affects: power management, heat, battery, & fans.


The various different ways things work on M1 Macs in:
