How to transfer photos from old Mac laptop to (already active) new one - Migration Manager?

I wish to transfer Photos from old to new Mac.

A step required by Migration Manager is to establish a password protected NEW account for transferred information. I do NOT wish to do that, as I already have an active account on my new Mac. I'd like the Photos archive to be accessible there.

What is the best alternative method, if not Migration Manager? The collection is large-ish.

(AirDrop turns everything into jpg, which for one thing resets associated date. Unacceptable.)

Open Finder then go to Picture and copy the photos album. Paste this in the new Mac. When you open Photos you may need to direct the location to this folder.
