How do I upgrade to a later version for my Macbook Pro (Retina, 13", Early 2015)?

Assuming that your device specs are correct, you're currently running OS X El Capitan (10.11).


The following versions of macOS are currently available from Apple. Bolded entries still receive security updates from Apple and are safer to use. I recommend installing the latest version of macOS, macOS Big Sur.


macOS Big Sur (11.2.1, latest version): Download from the Mac App Store. You'll need 44.5 GB of free space for the installation. Most of this will be returned back as free space.


macOS Catalina (10.15.7)

macOS Mojave (10.14.6)

macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
