Hi, a family member has been trying to publish a book on Apple Books, he has done everything uploaded the pages document, selected the prices and release date which is tomorrow but the pre-order is today, so when we press done it says not in store and it also says invalid prices. Can anyone help us out please?
If you recently upgraded from Catalina to Big Sur, you will not be able to use itunes producer to publish your ibooks written with "Author." If you are not willing to wait for the engineers to come up with a solution, the only other way out is to down grade back down to Catalina and re-install ibooks. If you do this, don't use Time Machine to back up your files, because time machine is not compatible across OS versions. The best way is to copy and drop your files onto a DDS chip.
Apple is dropping it's support for for ibooks Author. If you write teaching materials and use the quiz widget, you will notice it can not be used in "Pages," the so-called replacement for ibooks Author. Knowing this, you will want to get back to Catalina. Your upgrading days are over if you want to continue to use ibooks Author.

my understanding is it should be possible if you are in Catalina. Try it and see.
No, you can keep doing them in iBooks Author. It will probably be 4-5 years before they actually shut down Author. By that time, they will probably have new widgets, like the quiz widget, for "Pages." The immediate problem is the upgrade from Catalina to big Sur is creating a problem using iTunes Producer with iBooks Author. I noticed from a comment that some functionality is coming back but the process is still glitchy. Better to stay down in Catalina for now.

So I have seven iBooks in the iStore that were done w iBooks Author. So I am able to edit (upgrade) those books or do I have redo them in Pages, which does not have the widgets I use?
