Apple TV (3rd Gen) doesn't connect to Apple TV+ service

I used the good old apple tv to watch tv+ but recently it just stopped working.

every time I open the tv+ app it's just showing up the loading screen "connecting to apple tv"

Netflix is still working and the wifi-connection works just fine.

I tried

  • signing out of iTunes and back in
  • resetting the device

Is there anything else I can try?

I think I found the cause: I had to open up a guest-wifi for the apple tv because of the lack of wpa3-support, which worked perfectly for a while now. What I didn't know: The guest-wifi had a filtered lists for websites with "adult content" activated per default. so this list must have gotten an update that somehow blocked out the apple tv+ app. so if someone's experiencing the same issue using a FritzBox make sure you check if your wifi is filtered.
