Mac Office? You can install Apple’s core productivity Apps (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) directly from the Apple App Store. For iPad, these are free.

If instead you refer to Microsoft Office Apps, these are also available for installation on your iPad. There are “full” versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote etc. In addition, as of an update only a few days ago, there is now a single-install Microsoft Office App for iPad - this offering a cut-down version of the individual Office Apps.

You should note that the Microsoft Office Apps will require an active Office 365 Subscription. For devices with screen sizes of 10.1” or greater, with an active subscription, functionality is limited to opening and viewing an existing document. To create or edit a document, a subscription is required.

When comparing MS Office for iOS/iPadOS with their Mac and PC equivalents, the Apps designed for iPad and iPhone are not as feature-rich as the desktop equivalents.

LotusPilot is correct. You cannot install Office on your iPad Pro. You can install the Office apps through the App store, but to use them for anything other than viewing the related files, you must have a Microsoft 365 subscription. I teach Office at our local community college, and even with the subscription, those apps are not that good. You are just as well off with a subscription if you are going to use the iPad Pro to just use the online apps instead. It will save you space on the iPad and provide you with the same feature set.
