Untrusted certificate popup on an unregulated iPhone 12 Pro Max

I keep getting a popup because of an untrusted certificate euk-105680 and I can't get rid of it. My phone does not have any profiles so there is nothing under About - Certificate Trust to change. How do I stop these popups?

The full common name is euk-105680.eukservers.com issued by cPanel, inc. Certification Authority.

Side question, what even is this certificate? Thank you

Hello Stefan,

We would like to see how we can help you with your iPhone and this certificate pop-up.

Was the iPhone purchased used or new? If used, was it completely erased so when turned on by you for the first time the "Hello" screen was presented?

If you force restart the iPhone, does the issue return? Force restart iPhone

Before this started, was anything added to your iPhone, such as an app, or visiting a website for the first time?

If added a new app, check if it has any updates in the App Store:

You didn't mention if this certificate pops up from any particular action, or when using Safari. So, we've got some steps and information to start with:

About pop-up ads and windows in Safari

Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If Safari can't open the page because too many redirects occurred, not exactly the same issue, but steps may help.

Hi Sam,

I bought it brand new. Then did the usual transfer from my old iPhone X to the new one. It happens completely randomly. Mostly when I'm on the Home Screen. I thought of any new apps that I have downloaded but to be honest I don't download many apps so I tried to delete the ones I knew were recent but had no luck with that.

I did close both safari and chrome, all tabs but again no luck there. I thought it was the local Covid tracking, so I disabled that for a while but still had the popup come on. So at this point, I honestly have no idea what it is

Hello Stefan,

Thank you for getting back to us.

We know you mentioned this seems to happen more randomly, and it doesn't appear to be related to any applications you've installed. Some other possibilities this can be stemming from could be the type of network you're connecting to, or an email account setup on your device.

-When this alert pops up, can you take notice to the type of network you're connected to, please? Are you connecting your iPhone to cellular data, private Wi-Fi, VPN, public Wi-Fi, etc.? Connect iPhone to the internet. If you find this pop up occurs when connecting to one particular Wi-Fi network, perhaps try forgetting the network under Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the i > tap Forget This Network. Then, connect to it again to provide a fresh connection, if desired.

-Do you have any email accounts setup on your iPhone that could be related to, or connecting to, an euk server or cPanel, Inc.? Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Navigate to Settings > Mail > Accounts. From there, you can tap on your email account(s), then tap the account name at the top of that next page to view more of the mail settings, such as the SMTP server, etc. If you find this is related to a specific email account, perhaps try deleting the account from your iPhone and adding it as new again.

Keep us posted on what you find.

Cheers!
