Newbie unable to get voiceover to playback on clips

Just getting started with iMovie. Unable to get recorded voiceover to play back when clips are viewed. Any good tutorials available?

Also, check System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy and click on the Microphone icon in the left pane. Then scroll to iMovie in the right hand side pane and make sure that iMovie is checked. Now see if the voiceover works.

Hi, dayarts,

Try deleting preferences. To delete preferences, open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.

Can you provide more details? Do you have an audio voiceover clip in your timeline? Does it have waveforms in it? Have you checked your sound controls to make sure it is not muted? What procedural steps did you use to record it? Finally, if you can provide a screen shot of what you are seeing on your timeline, that might help.
