Install macOS Mojave application damaged, can‘t be used to install macOS.

Receive the following error message in the App Store when I clicked "Open" on macOS Mojave:

This copy of the Install macOS Mojave application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS.

What gives and how else can I download and install?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

Trashed macOS Mojave from applications folder.

Opened this link in Safari: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?ls=1&mt=12

Now instead of "Open," the button says "Download."
