I’ve just bought a brand new iPhone 11 for my mum and before even setting up the phone, it’s asking me to put in a passcode. We haven’t even started setting up the iPhone so unsure why it’s asking for a passcode. Any tips to access the phone would be much appreciated

The brand new iPhone should not have a set passcode. Something is not right. Is it asking for a passcode to unlock the screen or a Password to enter for an Apple ID? Either way, something is not right. Take it back to the seller and get your money back.

Thanks Alex. I thought as much. No it’s asking for a passcode to unlock the screen to start setting the phone up which I find very odd. I’ll definitely send it back to Apple as I purchased it from them. Thanks for your help.
